Obituary

Patsy Burns, 91, of Beckville, Texas, passed away on Wednesday morning, June 5, 2024, in Marshall, Texas. Patsy Lynette Lowe was born on May 20, 1933, to the late John and Opal Plummer Lowe. She graduated from high school in Cedar Hill, Texas. Patsy married Charles Raymond Burns on September 6, 1958, and he preceded her in death on April 23, 1994, after 35 years together. She worked as a bank teller for many years. Mrs. Burns also worked as the secretary for the Skeet and Trap Club in Cedar Hill. Later, she worked as a nurse's aide and enjoyed being a homemaker. Mrs. Burns was a member of Northside Christian Center and she loved being involved in church activities. She enjoyed sharing God's word with others. Mrs. Burns loved being with her family, especially watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up. She was a big believer in intercessory prayer and loved giving Bibles away. Mrs. Burns was also preceded in death by her son, John Raymond Burns; daughter, Deborah Sue Ellison; granddaughters, Rachelle VanDeCarr and Tarah Ellison; grandson, Scott David VanDeCarr; and her sister, Jean Merrifield.

She is survived by her daughter, Vicki VanDeCarr; grandchildren, Shelly Dragoo and husband Scott; Shandi Williams and husband Kendrick, and John Ellison and wife Nicole; great-grandchildren, Joel, Joshua, Rebekah, Micah, and Selah Dragoo, Devon Wallace, Karston and Talynn Williams, and Natalye and Rylee Jo Ellison; and son-in-law, Mike Ellison.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Reunion Inn of Marshall for the love and care given to Mom, AKA NaNa. You guys have become family to us. Also a special thanks to the staff of Accent Care for the love provided during Mom's last days on Earth.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Rock Hill Cemetery with Scott Dragoo, Aaron Bequette, and Brandon Pierce officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
