Pat Davis-Shew, 72, of the Deadwood Community in Panola County, TX, passed away on Tuesday morning, Jan. 29, 2019, in Longview. Patricia Gayle Williams Davis-Shew was born on July 15, 1946, in Henderson, TX to the late Hubert and Betty Jo Burk Williams. Pat graduated from High School in Leilehua, Wahiawa, Hawaii with the class of 1964. She married Dennis Dewayne Shew on June 8, 1989, in Texarkana, Ark. and he preceded her in death on May 31, 2007. She began her long career with Panola County in the early 1970's, working for Sheriff Johnny Spradley as a dispatcher. Pat later ran for Panola County Justice of the Peace for Precincts 1&4 where she served for over 20 years, retiring in 2007. She enjoyed cooking, painting, and all things centered around her family especially ballgames, school functions, the holidays, deer hunting, and camping from the time her children were babies. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Carthage. Pat was also preceded in death by her step-father, William Francis "Bill" Martin, Jr.

She is survived by sons, Mike Davis and wife Martha, Mark Davis and wife Staci, Mitch Davis, and Marty Davis and wife Mia all of Panola County; step-daughter, Jamie Shew Cook; sisters, Sharon Capps of Saginaw and Vicki Straubinger of Apple Valley, CA; grandchildren, Matt Davis, Marissa Davis Hammers, Jacob Cook, Keaton Davis, Cody Davis, Madison Davis, Connor Davis, Cammie Davis, and Molly Davis; great-grandchild, Maverick Davis; special sister-in-law, Jean Davis and husband Jimmy of Carthage; and father of her children, Larry Joe Davis of Carthage.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 1, 2019, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dale Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Deadwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
