Funeral services for Mr. Oren M. Boyd, age 90 of Carthage, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 20, 2006 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Dale Reed officiating. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Boyd passed away on Friday afternoon, November 17, 2006 in Carthage.

Oren Morris Boyd was born on December 12, 1915 in Panola County, Texas to Madison L. and Aubie Pace Boyd. Mr. Boyd graduated from Carthage High School in 1934. He worked as a farmer and was a member of the Texas Farm Bureau. Mr. Boyd enjoyed fishing and gardening. Mr. Boyd had lived his lifetime in Panola County and was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church. Mr. Boyd was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Robert Scott Boyd in 1983, Charles Boyd in 1995, and Joe Boyd in 2001; and one sister, Gertie Boyd in 1992.

Mr. Boyd is survived by two sons, David Boyd of Carthage and James "Jimmy" Boyd and wife Cherrie of Carthage; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Serving as pallbearers are Doyle Grant, Daren Boyd, J. B. Wedgeworth, Tony Boyd, Jody Wedgeworth, and Jerry Harrison. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Seth Smith, Conrad Allison, Bardell Harvey, and E. L. Oates.
