Obituary
Funeral services for Mrs. Opal Lee Darden Williams, age 81, of the Rehobeth Community of Panola County, Texas, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2010, at Walnut Grove Baptist Church with Rev. W.G. Morris officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in the Woods Community. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Williams passed away on Wednesday morning, May 19, 2010, at her home in the Rehobeth Community.
Opal Lee Darden Williams was born on August 8, 1928, in Panola County, Texas, to Bennie and Mamie Goss Darden. She worked in Austin with Austin I.S.D. as a cook and later at Brackenridge Hospital as an aide for many years. Mrs. Williams married Lenordan Williams on April 3, 1993. She moved to the Rehobeth Community in 1993, from the Woods Community. Mrs. Williams was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Ben Steward; her second husband, Robbie Robinson; and four brothers.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband, Lenordan Williams of the Rehobeth Community; three sons, Leemond Steward of Carthage, Henry Steward of Austin, and Clarence Steward of Austin; six daughters, Linda Frank of California, Shirley Butler and husband Johnny of Austin, Bonnie Hutchins of Austin, Joyce Jones and husband James of Austin, Mamie Hill and husband Morris of Colorado Springs, CO, and Patricia Odom of Austin; five step-sons; four step-daughters; two brothers, Paul Darden and wife Wanda of San Antonio and Travis Darden and wife Velma of San Antonio; and three sisters, Valerie Langley of Dallas, Ruby Mohammed of Dallas, and Fannie Joe Muckleroy of Dallas. Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mrs. Williams.
Serving as pallbearers are Kenneth Hutchins, Sam Butler, Chris Butler, Ronnie Odom, Justin Hill, and Patrick Williams.
