Obituary

Funeral services for Mrs. Oma Lee Anderson, age 91 years, of Carthage, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Allen Tilley and Reverend Rodger Cole officiating. Interment will follow in Anderson Cemetery under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday evening at the funeral home. Mrs. Anderson passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2006 in Longview, Texas.
Oma Lee Hudson Anderson was born on February 22, 1915 in Panola County, Texas to J.R. and Margaret McCullough Hudson. She married Jonathan Curtis Anderson on June 1, 1929 in the Antioch Community. Mrs. Anderson's home was her castle. She enjoyed working in her yard and her house was spotless. Mrs. Anderson had many friends, loved everyone, and especially loved her family. She had lived her lifetime in Panola County and was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church. Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on November 6, 1982, her son, John Anderson on November 8, 1997, six sisters, and five brothers.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by her daughter, Mollie J. Barber and husband James of Longview; daughter-in-law, Jodie Anderson of Tyler; four grandchildren, Debra Berry of Carthage, Beverly Barber of Decatur, Mitzi Cheatwood of Carthage, and Jill Kerr and husband Reid of Tyler; three great-grandchildren Brandon Berry, Amber Cheatwood, and Emily Kerr; special granddaughters, Linda Duke and Brenda Carrell; special great-granddaughter, Holly Capps; and a host of special friends and neighbors.
Serving as pallbearers are Brandon Berry, James Duke, Ricky Pride, Gene Abernathy, Joey Abernathy, Mark Abernathy, and Michael Salter.
