Funeral services for Mrs. Norma Marshall, age 87 years, of Carthage, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with her cousin Rev. Owen Dry and Brother Freddy Mason officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Marshall passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2006 in Carthage, Texas.
Norma Ball Marshall was born on December 21, 1918 in Gary, Texas to Norman and Ola Crouch Ball. Mrs. Marshall attended and graduated from Gary Schools. She married Gerald Henry Marshall on December 21, 1940 in Jacksonville, Texas. Mrs. Marshall loved quilting, cooking, sewing, and gardening. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carthage where she was a member of the Fidelity Sunday School Class. Mrs. Marshall had lived in Panola County all of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on April 8, 1986; and two sisters, Maxine Padgett and Marjorie Hudson.
Mrs. Marshall is survived by two daughters, Jerry Nell Rogers and husband Sam of Nacogdoches, Texas formerly of New Orleans, Louisiana and Julia "Judy" Neill and husband Charles of Nacogdoches, Texas; three grandchildren, Susan Senn and husband Joel of McKinney, Texas, Lance Neill and wife Kim of Arlington, Texas, and Kristen DeSanto and husband Tony of Plano, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Barrett Senn, Caden Senn, and Bryce Neill; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives also survive. She is also survived by her loving caretakers and friends at Briarcliff Healthcare Center.
Serving as pallbearers are Sam Rogers, Charles Neill, Glenn Cooper, Chris Mauritzen, Lance Neill, Joel Senn, and Tony DeSanto. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Richard Marshall, Mike Marshall, John Marshall, Donnie Marshall, Bill Marshall, and Jimmy Marshall.
