Norma Guss, 90, of the Old Center Community, passed away on Wednesday night, March 7, 2018, at her home in Old Center. Norma Marie Barrow was born on Jan. 28, 1928, in Baton Rouge, LA to the late Frank and Olive Ann Devilliers Barrow. She married Earl L. Guss in 1944, and he preceded her in death on Apr. 30, 1995. She enjoyed reading and studying the Bible. Mrs. Guss taught piano lessons and home schooled many children. She moved to Old Center in 1984, from Mississippi. Mrs. Guss was of the Seventh Day Adventist faith. She was also preceded in death by numerous siblings.

Survivors include her daughter, Sandy Lay and husband Ninuel of Old Center; 3 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Old Center Cemetery under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the funeral home on Friday.
