Nicole Paige Owens Porter

Nicole Paige Porter, age 48, of Grand Rapids, Michigan passed away on Saturday afternoon, August 15 in Byron Center, Michigan surrounded by so much love. She was born on September 13, 1977 in Minden, Louisiana to the late William Daniel and Shirely Jean Brewster Owens. In addition to her parents, Nicole was preceded in death by her brothers Tyron Wade Owens and Spencer DeWayne Owens.

Nicole first worked in information technology sector and then found her true passion in the marine industry working as a skipper. She loved being near water (preferably salty!), fishingdeep seas, rivers, or lakes, boating, caring for animals of all kinds, and being a salt and fresh water aquarist.

She married her Beloved, Kimberly Rose Porter, on January 11, 2025 in Muskegon. She is survived by her wife, Kim, step-daughter, Kasmira, mother-in-law, Rose, brothers-in-law Michael, Jim, and Bill Porter, and sisters-in-law Cheryl and Lisa(Klocko) and cousins Todd Griffith (Kim), Stacie Malone (Todd), Eric Brewster (Ashley), and Derek Brewster (Dawn), aunt Sherry Brewster. Nicole had many friends throughout the world, she truly never met a stranger.

Nicole will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel. A private burial will be at Walton Cemetery in the Del Ray Community of Panola County, Texas. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
