Newell Nathan Babcock, 60, of Carthage, Texas, formerly of Clyde, New York, passed away on Tuesday morning, September 13, 2022, at his home in Carthage. He was born on August 31, 1962, in North Little Rock, Arkansas to Calvin P. Babcock and Meleta L. Monroe Babcock. Newell was a cook and worked in the food services industry. He loved flowers and plants, and he loved making sure his neighbors were taken care of.  Newell was an active supporter of A.A. He was preceded in death by his sister, Katherine Pendergraft, and niece, Jennifer Wannamaker.

Newell is survived by his parents, Calvin and Meleta Babcock, and sister, Donna Loofboro and husband Al. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Restland Memorial Park in Carthage with Kenneth Monroe officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
