Nelda Arnold, age 67, of Carthage, Texas, passed away on Sunday night, December 21, 2025, at Hospice Homeplace in Tyler, Texas. Nelda Jane Arnold was born on November 24, 1958, in Snyder, Texas, to the late Rudolph Arnold and Johnnie Pauline Grant Arnold.

Nelda was a lifelong resident of Carthage. She graduated from Carthage High School with the Class of 1977, attended Panola College, and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Stephen F. Austin State University. She devoted her career to education, working as a teacher for Carthage I.S.D. until her retirement. In addition to teaching, Nelda sold Avon products for many years, forming lasting friendships along the way.

Nelda found great comfort and joy in spending time with her beloved cats. She was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church and cherished her community and church family.

She is survived by her brother, Johnny Arnold and wife Charlotte; her niece, Sabrina Fowler and husband James, and their children, Draven Rodriguez and Jaxon Richards; and her nephew, Nathan Arnold and fiancée Emily Hillin, and their children, Camden, Jennings, and Everly Arnold.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
