Necia Armstrong, 80, of Carthage, Texas, passed away on Sunday afternoon, October 29, 2023, in Carthage. Necia Marie Armstrong was born in Center, Texas on February 13, 1943, to the late Speedie Richard and Marie Elvira Robinett Fleetwood. She graduated with the Carthage High School Class of 1961, then enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving from 1961-1962. Necia then attended Panola Jr. College where she earned her LVN certification. She worked at Panola General Hospital and area nursing homes. Necia married Buddy Joe Armstrong on July 13, 2002, in Carthage. She was preceded in death by her parents, Speedie Richard Fleetwood and Marie Elvira Steele; step-father, George Grant Steele; daughter, Kimberly Rene Richards; granddaughter, Kellie Henley; grandson, Patrick McNeil; and siblings, Doris Adams, Evelyn Wilkins, and Richard Fleetwood.

Necia is survived by her husband, Buddy Armstrong; children, Karla McNeil Henley and husband David, Kevin Richard McNeil and wife Pam, and Kristina Rebecca McNeil; grandchildren, Britney McNeil, Chase Henley, and Tiffany Boren and husband Michael; and 6 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Clayton Cemetery with Anthony Fleetwood officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home

Pallbearers are Chase Henley, David Henley, James Mason, and Ryan Mason.
