Nathan Robinson Shubert, 97, of Carthage, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016, in Carthage. He was born on April 29, 1919, in Farmersville, TX., to John Wesley Shubert and Katie Elizabeth Shubert. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and was honorably discharged after 4 years of service. He married Mary Jo Rogers on Feb. 14, 1947. He worked in the oil field services industry for many years, retiring in 1984, from Atlantic Richfield. Mr. Shubert enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; numerous siblings; and son, Roger Lee Shubert.
Survivors include his wife Mary of Carthage; son, Larry Shubert and wife Brenda of Frankston; brother, Marlow Shubert and wife Ada Lee of Huntington; grandchildren, Jennifer Shubert, Stacy Youngblood, Alesia Shubert, Rebeka Baker, and Josh Shubert; great-grandchildren, Christina Shubert, Braxton Hollenshead, Taylor Hollenshead, Jacob Youngblood, Leigh-Anne Shubert, Bentley Baker, and Ethan Parker; and great-great-grandchildren, Demi Michea Martinez and Easton Nate Hollenshead.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dale Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.
Pallbearers are Braxton Hollenshead, Tyler Patterson, Mike Martinez, Dylan Padgett, Trey Hollenshead, and Josh Shubert.
