Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Reeves, age 69 of Lake Cherokee, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2008 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Urban officiating. Interment will follow in Panola Mt. Zion Cemetery near DeBerry, Texas. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Reeves passed away on Thursday morning, December 18, 2008 in Henderson.

Nancy Sue Reed Reeves was born on March 18, 1939 in Panola County, Texas to Herbert Benton and Edith Vern Shaw Reed. Nancy graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1957. She married Joe Max Reeves on December 29, 1956 at Central Baptist Church in Carthage. Nancy was a member of the Volvo Tennis Association and the Bridge Club in Longview. She was also a member of the Young Homemakers Club in Jacksonville, Longview, and Nacogdoches. Nancy loved to sew and was an excellent seamstress. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Edmond Reed.

Mrs. Reeves is survived by her mother, Edith Reed of Carthage; her husband, Joe Max Reeves of Lake Cherokee; one son, Mark W. Reeves and wife Susie of Spring Hill; one daughter, Susan Elzner of Kaufman; one sister, Linda Reed; and four grandchildren, Lauren and Logan Elzner, Brenton Stamper, and Brady Reeves.

Serving as pallbearers are Gale Sessions, Paul Sellers, Gary Fox, Jim Reeves, Scott Reeves, and Sammy Arnold.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Hartsel Black, Terry Shumate, and Robert L. Gunter.
