Obituary

Funeral services for Ms. Nancy Webb Martin, age 88, of Tatum, TX, will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Shannon Hahn and Kim Hagedorn officiating. Interment will follow in Martin Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Ms. Martin passed away on Thursday afternoon, Feb. 24, 2011, in Carthage.

Ms. Nancy Webb Martin was born on Oct. 10, 1922, in Tatum, TX, to Jeff Ivy and Bertha Beatrice Kirkley Martin. Ms. Martin attended Tatum schools and graduated from Tatum High School. She took care of her father and mother, was an excellent seamstress, loved to work crossword puzzles, and enjoyed reading. She enjoyed going to the Heritage House in Tatum and she loved her family dearly. Ms. Martin was a longtime member of the Tatum United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Daniel Sidney Martin and John Hartwell Martin.

Ms. Martin is survived by one brother, Hugh K. Martin and wife Neva of Beckville; sisters-in-law, Pegge Martin of Willow Valley, PA and Anna Martin of Marshall; nieces, Marna McDermott and husband Gene, Kathy Gross, Luanna Logan and husband Chris, Isabel Lewis and husband Steve, and Melinda Qualls and husband Jimmy; nephews, Dan Martin and wife DeAnn and Jeff Martin and wife Maureen; and great-nieces and nephews, Robert Gross, Keri Yocum, James and Jeffrey McDermott, John Gross, Amy Wakefield, Doug Lewis, Sarah Stephens, Capt. Jason Woodley, Wendy Barton, Jamie Dailey, and Arabella, Sullivan, and Brandon Martin. Numerous cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Ms. Martin.

Serving as pallbearers are Dan Martin, Jeff Martin, Jimmy Qualls, Steve Lewis, Gene McDermott, Capt. Jason Woodley, Daniel Martin, and Bud Barton.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Charlie Dailey, Doug Lewis, Chris Logan, and Jabe Martin.
