Myra Gale Heard, 64, of Beckville, passed away on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 6, 2016, in Carthage. She was born on March 2, 1952, in Henderson to the late A.J. and Evelyn Marvis Lee Smires. She attended school in Odessa and later earned her LVN at Panola College. She worked as a nurse at Evergreen Ministries near Beckville for many years until her retirement. Myra was a hard worker all of her life. She was devoted to her family and loved her grandchildren dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents; her baby sister, Dedra Smires; and her brother-in-law, Devon Christian.

Survivors include her children, Robert Wayne Heard and wife Shawna of Midland, Shelly Crawford and husband Robby of Pickton, TX, and Jessica Lynn Hartley and husband Ryan of Carthage; sisters, Sandra Nicholas and husband Leonard of Henderson, Debra Bradley and husband Jimmy of Henderson, Barbara Christian of Dunlap, TN, Laura Denise Scott and husband Les of Uvalde, and Audra Kay Christian and husband Earnest of Dunlap; special sister, Kathy Christian of Crowley; uncles, Harold Lee and wife Ann of Florida and John Lee of Corpus Christi; and grandchildren, Shyanne, Corey, Colbey, Zach, A.J., Kenzie, and Aiden.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
