Funeral services for Mrs. Mozelle Singletary, age 82, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dale Reed officiating. Interment will follow at Oddfellow Cemetery in Carthage. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Singletary passed away on Wednesday morning, April 27, 2011, in Carthage.
Mozelle Harris Singletary was born on August 16, 1928, in Fairplay, TX to John Tom and Mary Frances McGraw Harris. She lived in this area all of her life, and graduated from Carthage High School. She later married Mr. Charles Singletary on Oct. 10, 1974, in Whitehouse, TX. Mrs. Singletary proudly worked for Brookshire Brothers for over 30 years before retiring. She was a member of the Carthage Eastern Star Chapter 747. Mrs. Singletary loved doing ceramics and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Tommy Harris and Lonnie Harris, and her husband Charles, who recently died on April 8, 2011.
Mrs. Singletary is survived by her daughter, Mary Pyle and husband John, of Whitehouse; one sister, Mildred Hinton, of Blevins, AR; one step-son, Charles Dewayne Singletary of Vernon; one step-daughter, Debra Greening of Vernon; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive Mrs. Singletary.
Serving as pallbearers are John Pyle, Jeff Pyle, and Charles Hinton.
