Obituary

Mint Milam, 65, of Carthage, Texas, passed away on Friday afternoon, January 20, 2023, in Carthage. She was born on February 8, 1957, in Carthage to the late Pink Lee "P.L." and Helen Hooker Milam. Mint graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1975. During high school, she was a member of Walt Deppe's swim team. She attended Panola and Kilgore Colleges. Mint was a talented pianist and enjoyed playing the piano at Pisgah Methodist Church for pastor Newsom Tiller, who she thought the world of. She worked for many years at the Panola County Courthouse as a secretary for County Judge Ruff Wall. Mint was a fun-loving person who was the life of every party and enjoyed making memories with her family and friends. She lived her lifetime in Carthage where she was a member of the First Methodist Church. Mint was also preceded in death by a dear friend, Kathryn Rhodes.

She is survived by her sister, Minx Hamilton and husband John; niece, Mijji Hamilton and her children, Tatum and Sophie; nephew, Jace Hamilton and wife Chelsea and their children, Karrington and Bennett; special brother, Dean Jones; and caregiver and friend, Diane Lovil Brice.

Cremation arrangements are by Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
