Funeral services for Mr. Miguel Pacheco, age 74 of Springridge, LA, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Father Rothell Price officiating. Interment will follow with full military honors in the Panola Mt. Zion Cemetery in Panola County, TX. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Pacheco passed away on Monday, October 15, 2007 in Shreveport.
Miguel Pacheco was born on July 3, 1933 in Santurce, Puerto Rico to Rafael and Emma Martin Pacheco. He married Ina Carole Hines on September 16, 1955 in Bethany, LA. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. Mr. Pacheco served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, retiring as a Major after 20 years of service. After his service, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a Mail Handler, retiring after 18 years. He was preceded in death by one son, Juan Ricardo Pacheco who passed away on October 23, 2004 and by two brothers.
Mr. Pacheco is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carole Pacheco of Springridge; three sons, Miguel Mauricio Pacheco of Shreveport, Luis Antonio "Tony" Pacheco and wife Nelda of Waskom, and Carlos Adrian Pacheco and wife Beth of Marshall; one sister, Mercedes Pacheco of San Juan, Puerto Rico; eight grandchildren, Tony, Amanda, Katie, Juan, James, Joseph, Kylie, and Adrian; and two great-grandchildren, Christopher and Braden.
Serving as pallbearers are Mr. Pacheco's three sons, Miguel, Luis, and Carlos; a grandson, Tony II; and friends, Carroll Slayton and Kerry Mullone, Jr.
