Mickey Allen Barlow, age 84, of Carthage, Texas, passed away on Saturday morning, September 21, 2024, in Tyler, Texas. He was born on Aug. 29, 1940, in Bradley, Arkansas to the late Archie Clifford and Lois Naomi Hines Barlow. Mickey graduated from Carthage High School with the Class of 1959, and went on to earn his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Education from Stephen F. Austin State University. Mickey enjoyed a 30+ year career in education where he was a teacher, principal, and school administrator until his retirement from Dickinson I.S.D. He married Mary Linda Loventhal on January 7, 1990, in Beaumont, Texas. Mickey and Linda moved back to Carthage in 1995, from Dickinson and was a member of Northside Christian Center in Carthage. In his younger years he was very active in sports including Golf, Racquetball, and Tennis. He loved mowing his yard, fishing, and his favorite pastime was watching and supporting Carthage Football.

He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Linda Barlow; children, Donna Barlow Reese and husband Barry, Wade Barlow and wife Toni, Trent Barlow and wife Linda, Christy Koury and husband Philip, and Scott McReynolds and wife Sarah; sister, Vickie Townzen and her children; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; special friends, Allan and Susan Cain, Becky and Clayton Eubank, and Jimmy and Martha Bush; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2024, at Faith Assembly of God in Carthage under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service on Tuesday.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren.
