Funeral services for Mrs. Merva G. Sinclair, age 93 of Carthage, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Carthage with Dr. Allen Tilley officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Oddfellows Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Sinclair passed away on Wednesday morning, February 25, 2009 at her home near Carthage.

Merva G. Bozeman Sinclair was born on August 19, 1915 in Longstreet, Louisiana to Jesse Lee and Lillie Ethel Bryant Bozeman. She married James Alton Sinclair and he preceded her in death on May 6, 1984. She loved to sew, fish, and play the piano. Mrs. Sinclair lived in Carthage since 1957, moving from Palestine. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carthage for 52 years. She especially loved her Sunday School class and the class members. Mrs. Sinclair was also preceded in death by one brother, Melvin Bozeman; one sister, Margaret Helton; an infant brother; two grandsons, Randy Linthicum, and Nicki McWilliams; and a great-granddaughter, Ashley McWilliams.

Mrs. Sinclair is survived by two daughters, Mollie Jeane Linthicum and husband Gary Edward of Kilgore and Bettie Sue Baggett and husband Nat of Dixie Lake; three brothers, Conway Bozeman and wife Naomi of Shreveport, Rudolph Bozeman and wife Clara of Tyler, and Karl Bozeman and wife Joreen of Mesquite; three grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers are Ray Linthicum, Marlin Linthicum, David McWilliams, Gary Linthicum, Michael Linthicum, Lee Baggett, and Buck Cole.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Jesse McWilliams, Kenny Cole, and Matthew Linthicum.
