Graveside services for Ms. Melissa Brooks, age 34 years of Alabaster, Alabama will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at Clayton Cemetery in Clayton, Texas with Dr. Allen Tilley officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday evening at Jimerson-Lipsey funeral home in Carthage, Texas. Ms. Brooks passed away on Friday, March 3, 2006 in Pelham, Alabama.
Ms. Brooks was born on January 16, 1972 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Ms. Brooks was a graduate of Pelham High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree from The State University of New York. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Ms. Brooks is survived by her mother, Donette Hogan and husband Don of Alabaster, Alabama; father, Johnny Brooks and wife Lynette of Lake Jackson, Texas; and companion, Darrell Collins of Alabaster, Alabama; grandmother, Margaret Duke of Carthage, Texas; great-grandmother, Ellen Carroll of Carthage, Texas; uncle and aunt, J.E. & Debra Duke of Carthage, Texas; uncle, David Brooks of Austin, Texas; aunt, Carolyn Allums of Henderson, Texas; three aunts, Jan Green and husband Terry, Susie Toman and husband Jeff, and Betty Guillie; numerous cousins and other relatives also survive.
Serving as pallbearers are J.E. Duke, Ross Johnson, Sam Allison, Phil Grimes, Joe Hull, and David Westbrook.
