Maxine Clark, 84, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Saturday evening, Oct. 3, 2020, at her home in Carthage after a long illness. She was surrounded by family. Clara Maxine Clark was born on June 26, 1936 in Clayton, LA, to Albert Eddie and Velma Grace "Gracie" Ivey. Maxine loved to cook, craft, read and garden. She was married to Richard Lee Clark for over 20 years. They enjoyed their home in Carthage, and all of the numerous family gatherings at their house.  Many wonderful memories were made there. She is preceded in death by her parents; Eddie and Gracie Ivey; brothers, Howard Ivey, Von Ivey, Don Ivey, and Ray Ivey; sisters, Christine Bachinsky, and Gerry Ledford; and husband, Richard Lee Clark.

Survivors include her brother, Albert E. Ivey, Jr. of Shreveport, LA; sons, Steven Shepard of Woodland Park, CO, Richard Shepard of Gulf Breeze, FL and Greg Davenport and wife Liz of Coppell, TX; daughters, Donna McQuary and husband Steve of Callaway, MD, Denise Merritt and husband Vic of Carthage, TX, Debbie Chamberlain and husband Robert of Haughton, LA; and stepsons, Cliff Clark and Kevin Clark of Florida.  Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.

The family would like to express thanks to the staff and nurses at Hearts Way Hospice, and would also like to thank all her sitters that helped take care of her during this time.

Maxine suffered with bone cancer since 2006, but now there will be no more pain and suffering.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2020 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Denise Merritt and Rev. James Boone officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.  A visitation will be held from 10 – 11 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.
