Memorial services for Mrs. Mauricea D. Burton, age 52, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Greg Peay officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service. Mrs. Burton passed away on Friday evening, Dec. 16, 2011, at her home near Carthage.

Mauricea Dale Rudy Burton was born on Feb. 19, 1959, in Lake Charles, LA to Maurice Dale and Earlene Sunny Cramer Rudy. Mrs. Burton graduated in 1977 from Eisenhower High School in Houston. She married Monroe Lee Burton on Dec. 11, 2001. Mrs. Burton loved gardening and was a member of the Home Gardening Assc. She also loved animals, owning 7 dogs and was a member of the Humane Society. Mrs. Burton was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Burton is survived by her husband, Lee Burton of Carthage; one daughter, Amber Keyes of Houston; one brother, James Madget and wife Martha of Houston; one sister, Marcia Scott of Idaho; two grandchildren, Ayahna and Arabeea Comb; one uncle, Don Cramer and his family; one step-daughter, Lisa Broomfield and husband Steven of Oklahoma City; one step-son, Monte Burton of Houston; and four step-grandchildren.
