Funeral services for Miss Geneva Watson, age 93 of Carthage, Texas, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2007 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Lloyd Bonner officiating. Interment will follow in Walton Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday evening at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Miss Watson passed Thursday morning, December 20, 2007 in Longview.

Miss Mattie Geneva Watson was born on February 26, 1914 in the Clayton Community of Panola County, Texas. She was the daughter of Arthur Lee and Nancy Eva Copeland Watson. Miss Watson had lived in Carthage since 2002, moving from Alto, Texas. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Carthage. Miss Watson worked as a telephone operator with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Alba and Dallas, Texas, retiring after almost 32 years.

Miss Watson is survived by eight nieces and nephews, Oretha Jeffress of Carthage, Louzell Bonner of Lufkin, Don Mart Love of Henderson, Jack Gray of Houston, Betty Killion of Kilgore, Cathy Chancellor of Rusk, Eva Jean Brown of Marshall and Yvonne Williams of Keithville, La. Numerous great nieces and nephews also survive Miss Watson.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dean Jeffress, Bailey Thompson, Bruce Maines, Don Love, Ricky Love and Rodney Bertram.
