A graveside service for Mary Woods, 80, of Pasadena, Texas, formerly of Tenaha, Texas, will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2014, at Waldrop Cemetery near Fair Play, Texas with Rev. Carroll Brooks officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the cemetery after the graveside service. Mrs. Woods passed away on Monday evening, September 29, 2014, in Pasadena.

Mary Katherin Johnson Woods was born on November 13, 1933, in Ada, Oklahoma to the late James Claude and Rachel Thompson Johnson. She married John Tom "Bo" Woods on September 1, 1953, in Sunnyvale, California. In 1959, Mr. and Mrs. Woods moved from Tenaha to the Pasadena and Deer Park area where they became members of the Deer Park First Baptist Church, and raised a family of three sons and a daughter.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Woods was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

Mrs. Woods is survived by her husband of 61 years, John T. "Bo" Woods of Pasadena, Texas; three sons, Clifford Woods of Pasadena, Texas, Phillip Woods and wife Kelly of Baytown, Texas, and Kevin Woods and wife Becky of Deer Park, Texas; one daughter, Teresa Skelton of Deer Park, Texas; two sisters, Edith Bettancourt and husband Tony of Morgan Hill, California and Claudie Bowden of Russellville, Arkansas. She is also survived by grandchildren, James Helms and wife Naomi, Amy Woods, Amanda Richard and husband Justin, Megan Woods, Kayla Steward, Brittney Voltz and husband Matt, John Helms, Jessica Skelton, and Ryan Steward; as well as great-grandchildren Hannalee Helms, Avery Lynn Richard, Aleksandr, Isabel, and Addison Voltz, Karmynn Skelton, and Julien Simonds-Steward.
