A funeral service for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Comer, age 74, of Fair Play, TX, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Allison Chapel United Methodist Church in Fair Play with Mr. Steve Comer officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Waldrop Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Comer passed away on Wednesday morning, January 02, 2013, at her home in Fair Play.

Mary Elizabeth Werge Comer was born on July 10, 1938, in Dallas, TX, to Edward Cook and Vivian Frances Holland Werge. She graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in Dallas with the class of 1957. Mrs. Comer married Charles Walbert Comer on Aug. 6, 1957, in Dallas. She worked at Texas Instruments and also Winn Dixie until her retirement. She moved to Fair Play in 1982, from Meridian, Mississippi. Mrs. Comer was a member of the Allison Chapel U.M.C. in Fair Play. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Kenneth Young.

Mrs. Comer is survived by her husband of 55 years, Charles Comer of Fair Play; three sons, Steve Charles Comer and wife Karren of Flint, David Thomas Comer and wife Cindy Howes of Lake Murvaul, and John Edward Comer and wife Rene of Lindale; nine grandchildren, Aaron, Eric, Adam, Amon, Avery, Emily, Austin, Stephanie, and Michael; and three great-grandchildren, Kinley, Weston, and Everett.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mrs. Comer's grandsons.
