A funeral service for Mrs. Mary Ann Thompson King, age 77 of the Woods Community, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Jeanette Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Mrs. King passed away on Tuesday morning, Jan. 15, 2013, at her home in the Woods Community.

Mary Ann Thompson King was born on Feb. 6, 1935, in Seagraves, TX to Charles Spurgeon and Verna Lucille Pence Thompson. She married Newton Carlisle King, Jr. on June 29, 1957, in Lubbock and he preceded her in death on Jun 12, 2008. She loved crafting, sewing, gardening, and animals. Mrs. King moved to Panola County in 2005 from Round Rock and she was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Carthage. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Charles Thompson; and one granddaughter, Rachelle King.

Mrs. King is survived by her son, Dennis King of Pflugerville; two daughters, Terrie King of the Woods Community and Charlotte Ann Malan of Taylor; six grandchildren, Michelle McKamy, Shannon Grappe, Misty King, Rebecca King, Amanda Anderson, and Dylan Malan; eight great-grandchildren, Beau Grappe, Caleb and Alexia King, Hannah, Noah, Joshua, Emma, and Avery Anderson. Numerous cousins and friends also survive Mrs. King.
