Mary Stillwell, 81, of the Old Center Community of Panola County, TX, passed away on Friday morning, March 20, 2020, in Carthage, TX. Mary Ann Kemp Stillwell was born on Feb. 18, 1939, in Marlin, Falls County, TX to the late Richard Harvey and Faye Etheridge Kemp. She graduated from high school in Brownfield, TX with the class of 1957, and attended business college. Mary married James Tiffen "Tip" Stillwell on July 17, 1958, in Waco, TX. Mrs. Stillwell owned and operated Pat Walker's in Carthage for many years. She moved to Panola County in 1976, from Dover, DE and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in the Woods Community of Panola County.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, James "Tip" Stillwell of Old Center; sons, Joe Stillwell and wife Patty of White Oak, Max Stillwell and wife Donna of Old Center, and Richard Stillwell and wife Kim of Petal, MS; siblings, Barbara Campbell of Mt. Vernon and Jimmy Kemp of Waco; 9 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren with one on the way.

A graveside service will be held at Woods Cemetery with Rev. Richard Stillwell and Rev. Rodney Puryear officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
