Mary Russell, 77, of Burleson, TX formerly of Carthage, TX, passed away on Saturday morning, Sept. 15, 2018. Mary Lou Alexander Russell was born on Nov. 25, 1940, in the Midyett Community in Panola County to the late Charlie Cordie and Lucile Reeves Alexander. She graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1959, and attended Panola College where she studied to be an LVN. She worked for many years at Panola General Hospital. Mary married Walter L. Russell on Aug. 4, 1973, in Carthage. She loved plants, quilting and sewing, and cats. Mary moved to Burleson in 1992, from Carthage and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Margie Edwards, Mildred Alexander, Annie Margaret Barnett, Arthur Alexander, George Alexander, and Charlie Alexander; and a niece, Diane Cadenhead.

Survivors include her loving husband of over 45 years, W.L. Russell of Burleson; son, Brian Russell and wife Erin Stone of Weatherford; daughter, Melanie Russell of Claremore, OK; and sisters-in-law, Mary Alexander of Longview and Lois Alexander of Lewisville, Ark.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dale Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Jason Cadenhead, Randy Cadenhead, Scott Cadenhead, Michael Alexander, Steven Martinez, and Brian Russell.
