Graveside services for Mrs. Mary Catherine Rowland "Tissie" Castle, age 89, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 25, 2011, at Oddfellows Cemetery in Carthage with Pastor Scott Schulik officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:45 p.m. on Sunday at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home prior to the service. Mrs. Castle passed away on Saturday morning, Sept. 24, 2011, in Longview.

Mary Catherine Rowland "Tissie" Castle was born on Jan. 9, 1922, in Carthage, TX to George Robert and Mary Jewel Page Rowland. She graduated from Carthage High School. Mrs. Castle married Howard Vernon Castle on Nov. 8, 1942, in Bowling Green, OH and he preceded her in death on May 5, 1997. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Carthage. Mrs. Castle was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Raymond Vernon Castle who passed away on Aug. 16, 1958; and her brother, Don Robert "Buddy" Rowland.

Mrs. Castle is survived by her daughter, Kay McDaniel and husband Dr. Gary McDaniel of Longview; one sister, Betty Duckworth of Carthage; and three grandchildren, Joanna Burkey and husband Todd of Austin, Porter McDaniel and wife Jana of Carthage, and Greg McDaniel and wife LeAnn of Overton.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the care given by the staff at Summer Meadows nursing home in Longview.
