Mary Lou Brown Posey, 76, of the Snap Community, passed away on Saturday morning, Oct. 8, 2016, at her home. She was born on Aug. 6, 1940, in Tuscola County, MI to the late William and Dora Penland Brown. She graduated from Caro High School in Caro, MI with the class of 1959. Mary worked as a clerk at the Panola County Tax office and for CISD as a teacher's aide for many years. She married Robert Alvin Posey on Aug. 8, 1975, in Dixon County, TN. Mrs. Posey was preceded in death by her parents; brother, David Curtis Brown; grandchild, Aaron Thane; and great-grandchild, Douglas Wayne Freeman.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Bobby Posey of Snap; sons, Leonard Kirk Thane and Todd Mitchell Thane and wife Jodie of Denver, CO; daughter, Melinda Posey of Troup; sisters Betty Lockhart of Caro, MI and Sona Sue Hunt of Apache Junction, AZ; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren with one on the way.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel.
