Mary Shayne Rogers Magee Milam, 61, of Carthage, passed away on Thursday morning, May 19, 2016, at her home in Carthage. She was born on Jan. 30, 1955, in Houston to the late Robert Thomas and Jennie Fay Moore Rogers. She graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1973 and attended Panola College where she earned an associates degree. She worked in the child care business for many years. She cherished the children she kept and touched so many hearts throughout the years. Mary married Kenneth Dale Milam on Dec. 18, 1999, in Carthage. Mary was a member of the Carthage Church of Christ. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Gary Lynn Rogers and Jimmy Dale Rogers.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Milam of Carthage; daughter, Tabitha Magee Berry of Carthage; sister, Linda Haynes and husband James of Huffman; and grandchildren, Aubrie Faye Williams, Austin Khalil Berry, and Adison Khaleen Berry.

The family will receive friends for a visitation from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2016, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 23, 2016, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Steve Wiggins officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery in the Snap Community.

Pallbearers are Tyrez Berry, Kenny Edwards, Jarrod McLin, James Haynes, Jr., Oscar Berry, Daniel Haynes, Austin Berry, and Terian Goree. Honorary pallbearers are all the children she cared for through the years.
