Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Beth Malone Allums, age 61, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dale Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Rehobeth Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Allums passed away on Sunday morning, Dec. 11, 2011, at her home near Carthage.

Mary Beth Malone Allums was born on Feb. 6, 1950, in Henderson, TX to Fred Odis and Grace Sue Cariker Malone. She graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1968. Beth married Glen Allums on Nov. 23, 1968, in Long Branch, TX. She was one of the first employees for Dr. Dennis Golden Optometry Clinic where she worked as an Optometry Tech. for many years until her retirement. Beth lived her lifetime in Panola County and was a member of the Rehobeth United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Betty Youngblood.

Mrs. Allums is survived by her husband of 43 years, Glen Allums of Carthage; two daughters, Shannon Henderson and husband R.D. of Kilgore and Christie Nichols and husband Tommy of Carthage; and six grandchildren, Ashley Windham, Cody Wilkerson, Remington Henderson, T.J. Allums, Mason Henderson, and Rhayne Nichols.

Serving as pallbearers are Danny Buck Davidson, Pat Jones, Ronnie LaGrone, William Goolsby, Jerry Anderson, and Gaylon Anderson.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Jack Ellett, Robert Earl Smith and Jerel Worthington.
