Graveside services for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Hancock Thomson, age 91, of Shreveport, LA, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Panola-Mt. Zion Cemetery near DeBerry, TX, with Father Richard Lomgard officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the cemetery between noon and 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Mrs. Thomson passed away on Wednesday night, March 14, 2012, in Shreveport.

Mary Elizabeth Hancock Thomson was born on Dec. 12, 1920, in the Woods Community of Panola County, TX, to William Joseph and Georgia Gertrude Huff Hancock. Mrs. Thomson moved to Shreveport in 1954, from Detroit, Michigan. She was the office manager at the Captain Shreve Hotel in Shreveport for over 23 years, until her retirement in 1987. Mrs. Thomson was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shreveport. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Retha Murphy, Bernice Nichols, and Billye Kelly; two brothers, Lewis and Bob Hancock; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Louise Hancock.

Mrs. Thomson is survived by one brother, John B. Hancock of Shreveport; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Hancock of Hallsville and Helen Hancock Harvey of Bossier City; three nieces; and seven nephews.
