A funeral service for Mrs. Mary Ann Greer, age 65, of Timpson, TX, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kirthell Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Greer passed away on Friday morning, Sept. 27, 2013, in Tyler, TX.

Mary Ann Greer was born on Dec. 19, 1947, in Los Angeles, CA to Jessie Theodore and Winifred Edna White Pierson. She married Willie Joe Greer on June 13, 1986, in Palm Springs, CA. Mrs. Greer graduated from The College of The Desert in Palm Desert, CA as a registered nurse. She worked as a nurse for many years until her retirement. She moved to Timpson in 2004 and was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Wesley Pierson; and two sisters, Myrna Wise and Diane Pierson.

Mrs. Greer is survived by her husband, Willie Joe Greer of Timpson; one son, Brian Smith of Timpson; seven daughters, Laurel Smith of Longview, Wendy Smith of Dallas, Dawn Davis of Houston, Cassie Smith of Palm Springs, Sherrie Greer of Santa Marie, Shaneal Marx and husband Peter of California, and Shella Greer of Riverside; one brother, Anthony Pierson and wife Akiko of Los Angeles; one sister, Rebecca Pierson of Timpson; 15 grandchildren, Amber, Austin, Andrew, Ashley, Alex, Ashton, Braxton, Esiah, DeVon, Deon, Cinque, Cymone, Sean, Candace, and Tiffany; and 6 great-grandchildren, Jayden, Jayme, Julian, Devin, Jasper, and Alexa.

Mary Greer was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her greatest accomplishment after her family was going back to school to obtain her nursing degree. She taught us it is never too late to do what you love. Our mother had strong opinions about life, but she always allowed us to learn in our way. She was always there no matter what we needed. Her love for everyone was unlimited and without restriction. We thank you Lord for giving us such a remarkable angel to be our mother and our friend. Now it is time for her to go home and rest. Momma we love you and thank you for allowing us to be your children. Just know you have done a great job and you can rest knowing we will all be ok and will take care of each other. Rest now and be at Peace. SEE YOU IN OUR DREAMS!!!
