Mary Brigdon, 88, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Monday evening, March 22, 2021, in Carthage. She was born on May 1, 1932, in Many, LA to the parentage of the late Emeterio and Lola B. Dees Barrera. Mary graduated from Texarkana, Texas High School with the class of 1950. She served in the U.S. Air Force during Korea. Mary married Floyd Edward Brigdon, Sr. on July 6, 1962, in Killeen, TX and he preceded her in death on July 16, 2016. Mrs. Brigdon worked for many years in sales at local hardware and flooring stores and also at the City Pool in Carthage. Mary moved to Carthage in 1971, from Killeen. She was also preceded in death by brothers, James, Joe, and Lonnie Pearson.

She is survived by her son, Floyd Brigdon and wife Sarah of Terrell; sisters, Molly Stensin and Kathryn Barrera of Carthage; grandchildren, Christina McCoy and husband Trenton, Brittany Seal, Isaac, Joshua, and Andrew Huff, and Tasha Calliham; and great-grandchildren, Jayden Brigdon, Jayla, Jayde, and Jaymes McCoy, Parker Huff, and Gabe and Kat Calliham. Caregiver, Jodi Richard and her family as well as numerous nieces and nephews also survive Mrs. Brigdon.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Bill Necessary officiating. Interment will follow in Conner Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.
