A memorial service for Mary Alice Boyd Bauer, age 63 of Corpus Christi, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday May 10, 2008 at Macedonia Baptist Church near Carthage with Brother Buddy Bankhead officiating. Ms. Bauer passed away Tuesday April 22, 2008 at her residence in Corpus Christi.

Ms. Bauer was born December 18, 1944 in Carthage, Texas to Robert Scott and Alma Alice Maines Boyd. She was a dog and cat lover and she enjoyed participating in ballroom dancing competitions, of which she won several. She also loved to play tennis and was a member of the Corpus Christi Athletic Club, where she occasionally filled in as a tennis instructor. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Tony; one son, Scott Bauer; and one sister, Dorothy Mullis.

Ms. Bauer is survived by two daughters, Angela Bauer of Bridge City, Texas and Robin Bostick of Carthage, Texas; one grandson, Jared Bostick of Carthage, Texas; two sisters, Betty Bankhead and husband Buddy of Carthage, Texas and Peggy Boyd of Brenham, Texas; four nieces, Brenda Craig and husband Don of Tyler, Texas, Debra Ingram of Sulpher, Louisiana, Darla Townsend and husband Lonnie of Carthage, Texas, and Jennifer Ritter and husband Larry of Carthage, Texas; two nephews, Jay Bankhead and wife Gena of Signal Mountain, Tennessee and Scott Mullis and wife Misty of Bossier City, Louisiana; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Also surviving Ms. Bauer is a host of devoted friends and neighbors in Corpus Christi.
