Obituary
A funeral service for Mrs. Lucille Arrington, age 88, of DeBerry, TX, will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at Calvary Pentecostal Church in Shreveport with Rev. Cecil Daniels officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home and from 5-7 p.m. on Monday at the church prior to the service. A graveside service will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday at Morgan Cemetery in Morgan, TX. Mrs. Arrington passed away on Friday night, Jan. 24, 2014, in Shreveport.
Mary Lucille Boyd Arrington was born on Oct. 5, 1925, in Kopperl, Bosque County, TX to the late Rob and Lillie Sessums Boyd. She married Robert Lee Arrington on Jan. 17, 1943, in Morgan, TX and he preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 2012. The Arrington's were ordained as ministers of the United Pentecostal Church International in 1953. The first church they pastored was in Clifton, TX. They went on to pastor numerous other churches in the Central and East Texas area. Rev. and Mrs. Arrington founded the First United Pentecostal Church in Waukesha, Wisconsin and ministered there for 12 years. Ministry was her life's work and she was dedicated to helping people. She retired with her husband and moved to Carthage in 1986, from Waukesha. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Guilla Mae Cox Flippo and one son, Robert Dale Arrington.
Mrs. Arrington is survived by two sons, Jim Arrington and wife Kay of Beckville and Ed Arrington and wife Martha of DeBerry; four grandchildren, Eve Woods and husband Randy, Jason Arrington, Josh Arrington and wife Stacey and their mother, Judith Arrington; and D'Lisa Frioux and husband Sammy; and seven great-grandchildren, Jade, Sage, and Benjamin Woods, Hunter, Gabriel, and Caeden Arrington, and Alyssa Frioux.
Serving as pallbearers are Randy Woods, Ben Woods, Sammy Frioux, Eric Darden, Robert Fuller, Jonathan Christman, and David Cox.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Jason Arrington and Chuck Roethke.
