Funeral services for Mr. Martell Hodge, 66 of Gary, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Brother E. J. Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Bethel Cemetery near Gary. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Hodge passed away on Friday, August 3, 2007 in Nacogdoches, Texas.

Martell Hodge was born on September 27, 1940 in Panola County, Texas to L. B. and Sylvia Bell Downing Hodge. He worked as a mechanic for Bramblett Auto Parts until 2006. He loved hunting and fishing. Mr. Hodge was of the Assembly of God faith. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, William, Clyde, and Odell Hodge.

Mr. Hodge is survived by one son, Martell Hodge, Jr. of Tenaha; one daughter, Felicia Hodge Bryce and husband Bennie of Timpson; four brothers, Rusty Hodge and wife Sharon of Gary, H. L. Hodge and wife Sandra of Carthage, Waymon Hodge of Longview, and David Hodge and wife Beverly of Carthage; four sisters, Clauden Hodge, Twila Andrews, Pearl Hodge, and Pansy Hodge all of Gary; and nine grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mr. Hodge.

Serving as pallbearers will be Martell Hodge, Jr., H. L. Hodge, David Hodge, Waymon Hodge, Walter Harthcock, Lynn Downing, and Billy Downing. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Bennie Bryce and Kevin Zamora.
