A funeral service for Mark Ramage, 60, of Carthage, will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Ramage passed away on Monday afternoon, July 21, 2014, in Tyler.
Mark Steven Ramage was born on Dec. 15, 1953, in Levelland, TX to Gerald Melton and Darlene Beavers Ramage. He graduated from Snyder High School with the class of 1972. Mark married Mary Elizabeth Swanson on April 28, 1983. Mr. Ramage worked in construction until his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. Mark moved to Carthage in 1977, from Saudi Arabia where he worked in construction of gas refineries. He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Charles Ramage.
Mr. Ramage is survived by his mother, Darlene Ramage of Carthage; his wife, Beth Ramage of Longview; one sister, Cheryl Procter and husband Dewayne of Friona; nieces and nephews, Darran Procter, Amanda Myers, Wade Procter, Shannon Kirkland, Angela Weaver, Darla Sandlin, and Amanda Thorne; sister-in-law, Leona Wimberly of Carthage; and special cousin, Wiley Boothe and wife Debra of Deadwood. Numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends also survive Mr. Ramage.
Serving as pallbearers are Wade Procter, Wiley Boothe, Dallas Boothe, Michael Thorne, Dewayne Procter, David Myers, Rondall Kirkland, Ed Johns, and Damon Weaver.
