Graveside services for Mrs. Marjorie Darden Parrish, age 85 of Irving, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at Ramah Cemetery near Tenaha, Texas. Mrs. Parrish passed away on June 6, 2009.
Marjorie Darden Parrish was born November 21, 1923 in New Orleans, LA to Grady and Oma Dell Darden. She graduated from Eleanor McMain Secondary School and received a BA from Southwestern Louisiana Institute. Mrs. Parrish was in the second class of Pan Am flight attendants and spent her career flying between Miami and Central America. This began a lifelong love of travel to foreign countries. On October 3, 1952 she married the love of her life, Morris Holland Parrish, who preceded her in death on April 30, of this year. Throughout her life Mrs. Parrish was a faithful servant of God, a tireless supporter of her husband, and a devoted mother to her children. She gave generously and unselfishly of her time in an effort to share the love of Christ and bring beauty to the world she lived in. She loved her church, her friends, her garden, cats, Louisiana, crawfish etouffee, and chocolate milk shakes. Her kindness and generosity will be missed greatly by all who knew her, but we rejoice knowing that she is reunited with her beloved Morris.
She is survived by her children, Richard Parrish of Terrell, TX, and her daughter, Judith Bolch of Monument, CO. Also, five grandchildren, Sam, Daniel, and Alex Parrish, Beau and Ali Bolch.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Irving Heritage Society, P.O. Box 171572, Irving, TX 75017-1572.
