A funeral service for Margie Allen, 59, of Carthage, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December, 12, 2015, at First Assembly of God in Christ with Bishop Hubert Owens officiating. Interment will follow in Walker Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Mrs. Allen passed away on Sunday morning, Dec. 6, 2015, in Tyler.
Marjorie Faye "Margie" Allen was born on Oct. 13, 1956, in Carthage to the late Doyle Horton and Leona Beatrice Allen. Ms. Allen graduated from Turner High School. She worked in the dietary departments of local nursing homes for many years. Ms. Allen had lived her lifetime in Carthage and was a member of the First Assembly of God in Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Shelby and Don Nealy, Billy Jernigan and Randy Allen; and sisters, Virginia Jernigan and Melva Allen.
Survivors include sons, Calvin Yarbrough of Carthage and Garron Allen of Tyler; daughter, Sameatra Wells and husband Roy of Carthage; sisters, Shirley Allen and husband R.L. Franklin of Carthage and Nita Kay Allen of Palm Springs; and grandchildren, Jayln, Camron, Lauryn, Garron, Jr., and Kimora.
Pallbearers are Michael Pipkins, Larry Champion, Robert Barkins, Danny Ingram, Darius Gates, Eric Collins, Jerry Allen, Kenneth Pipkins, and Ray Pipkins.
Honorary pallbearers are Kerry Allen, Terrance Allen, Sheldon Nealy, Terry Franklin, R.L. Franklin, Roy Wells, Darry Taylor, D'Angelo Turner, and Jacorian Allen.
