A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Marie Savoy Moore, age 96 of Carthage, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at St. William of Vercelli Catholic Church in Carthage with Father Anthony Suresh officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park near Carthage under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Moore passed away on Thursday morning, January 10, 2008 in Carthage.

Marie Aurore Savoy Moore was born on December 12, 1911 in St. Martin Parish, Louisiana to Leonce L. and Eulalie Bertrand Savoy. She graduated from high school and attended college in LaFayette. Mrs. Moore worked as a desk clerk at the Washington Youree Hotel, The Jefferson Hotel, and worked at the The Townhouse Apartments in Shreveport. She met Weldon D. Moore in Shreveport in 1960. They married and moved to Carthage in 1961. Marie was an active member of the St. William of Vercelli Catholic Church in Carthage. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband who passed away on September 9, 1999, six brothers, and three sisters.

She is survived by nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Pallbearers will be Bill Reynolds, Olin Joffrion, Mike Castille, Chris Bell, Kraig Cain, Ray Fenton, and Shawn Fenton.
