IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marie
Denniston
September 24, 1944 – March 23, 2022
Jessie "Marie" Denniston, 77, of Carthage, TX, went to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully with Stephonie and Rae by her side, on Wednesday morning, March 23, 2022, in Plano, TX, after a sudden decline in her health. Born on September 24, 1944, Marie was the daughter of Inis Johnson and the sister to Curtis Hill, Edith Frederick, Barbara Kelley, Jo Coil, and Geneva Owen. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, her mother, Inis, her brother, Curtis and her sister, Jo. Marie spent her childhood in Clarksville, TX before moving to Dallas as a young adult where she met and then married the love of her life, Kenneth, on September 29, 1972. They began their life together in Dallas and then moved to Carthage with their girls where they lived happily for nearly 40 years. Marie was an active member of Central Baptist Church in Carthage where she was very involved with the youth and with mission work. She was passionate about travel. She and Kenneth traveled the world together sharing the love of Christ through mission work and also for fun family trips. One of her favorite events every year was hosting Thanksgiving at her home and all the loved ones it included. Marie's biggest passion, though, was her grandchildren. They were her joy and she loved spending as much time with them as possible. She did her best to make it to every game, performance, recital and award ceremony to make sure they knew they were loved and supported.
Mrs. Denniston is survived by her daughters Stephonie Denton and husband Wade, Rae Hill and husband Ian as well as her grandchildren, Ivy, Ryn, Asa, Stella, Allie and Ethan. She also leaves behind in-laws, nieces, nephews and many friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Central Baptist Church, Carthage, TX with Dr. Charles Dodson officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home A reception will follow.
Kenneth and Marie Denniston were members of Central Baptist Church for nearly 40 years. Most summers they took part in countless mission trips to help with needs across the country while also sharing the gospel. They raised their girls in the church and often volunteered their time in the youth programs and trips. Their daughters see it fitting to remember them and what they were passionate about by creating the "Kenneth and Marie Denniston Memorial Fund" to help youth at Central Baptist Church to continue this life changing work by supporting those that may not have the resources to participate in these youth trips and special events. In Lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you support this work by donating to this special fund. Simply click the link below to donate or mail your gift to Central Baptist Church, 220 W.
