A funeral service for Mrs. Marian Cruse, age 81, of Lake Murvaul formerly of Lufkin, TX, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Buddy Bankhead officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Garden of Memories in Lufkin with Rev. Gene Hazel officiating. The family will receive friends from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Cruse passed away on Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 29, 2013, in Longview.
Marian Bartlett Taylor Cruse was born on Jan. 16, 1932, in Dallas, TX, to P.T. and Tommie Clem Sorrells Taylor. She graduated from Clarksville High School with the class of 1949. She married Dale Cruse and he preceded her in death in June of 1976. Mrs. Cruse worked for the Social Security Administration as a claims representative until her retirement. She loved gardening, traveling, and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Cruse moved to Lake Murvaul in 1986, from Lufkin and was of the Baptist faith. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Dusty Bullard; her brother, Tommy Taylor; and a son-in-law, Howard D. Harris.
Mrs. Cruse is survived by three daughters, Margie Lynn Harris of Lake Cherokee, Cheryl D. Bullard of Midland, and Terri A. Stokes and husband Col. David Stokes of Lake Cherokee; nine grandchildren, Christi, Kelly, Luther, Danna, Barrett, Amanda, Eric, Ryan, and Jamie; twelve great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Kim Young.
Serving as pallbearers will be Barrett Newsom, Ryan Harris, Terry McGuire, Wylie Quarles, Luther Newsom, and Richard Young.
Serving as an honorary pallbearer is Col. David Stokes.
