Obituary

Graveside services for Mrs. Margie Mae Feagin, age 69 of Liberty City, Texas will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at Restland Memorial Park near Carthage with Reverend Jerry R. Feagin officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. Mrs. Feagin lost her fight with cancer on November 25, 2006 in Longview, Texas and went home to be with our Lord and savior.

Margie Mae Feagin was born on February 1, 1937 in Dallas, Texas to Hermon E. and Lela Mae Butler Tinker. She married William R. Feagin on May 9, 1963 and together they raised seven children. Mrs. Feagin worked as a butcher for Neuhoff Meat Packing in Dallas, Texas for several years. "Mama," as everyone called her, was a devoted housewife and mother, all of her married life. She was able to combine two families into one when everyone was telling her it would never happen. The words "step-children" were never allowed in her home, and we were all her children. She devoted her whole life to her family and even her children's friends that found their way to her home. Mrs. Feagin had lived in Longview from 1963 to 2002 when she moved to Liberty City, Texas. She was of the Baptist faith and had lived Liberty City for the past four years. Mrs. Feagin was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, William R. Feagin on October 26, 2005; son, Herman Richard Mills; and her parents, Herman and Lela Tinker.

Mrs. Feagin is survived by three sons, Mike Feagin and wife Betty of Lufkin, Pat Feagin of Dallas, and Jerry Feagin and wife Bonita of Longview; three daughters, Diane Summers of Longview, Patsy Mills of Liberty City, and Gloria Brunson and husband Paul of Longview; seventeen grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

Mama never met a stranger; she was loved by everyone and will truly be missed.

If desired, memorials may be made to Texas Home Health Hospice, 3220 North Fourth Street, Suite 101, Longview, Texas 75605.
