A graveside service for Mrs. Mamie D. Whitley, 90, of Carthage, will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, at Restland Memorial Park near Carthage with Bro. Rodger Cole officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Whitley passed away on Sunday night, Aug. 2, 2015, in Carthage.

Mamie D. Glover Whitley was born on Sept. 24, 1924, in Wells, TX, to the late John and Evie Goodwin Glover. She graduated from Wells High School with the class of 1941. Mrs. Whitley later went to beauty operator school and owned her own beauty shop until her retirement. She married Earnest Woodrow Whitley Sr. and he preceded her in death. She lived most of her life in Carthage and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by one son, Earnest W. "Buddy" Whitley; special niece, Belinda Woods; and numerous siblings.

Mrs. Whitley is survived by one son, Charles Whitley and Linda of Carthage; sisters, Ella Craves and husband John and Nettie Kathrine Allen; grandchildren, Mitchel Whitley and Michelle and A.R. Bellamy; and great-grandchild, Madison Davis.
