Funeral services for Mrs. Mae Gladys Harris, age 81 of Carthage, Texas, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2006 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kirthell Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Harris passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2006 at her residence in Carthage.
Mae Gladys Brown was born on May 12, 1924 to William and Allie Bell Brooks Brown in Panola County, Texas. She had lived her lifetime in Panola County and was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Young Harris on August 12, 1989; her daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Melvin Roberson; and her grandson, Rodney Pipkins.
Mrs. Harris is survived by six daughters, Allie Greer and husband Jimmy of Palm Springs, CA, Allie Moore of Marshall, Lillie Tucker and husband Lenzo of Jefferson, Youngie Roberson and husband Larry of Rowlett, Betty Murphy and husband Kenneth of Carthage, and Kerneatha "Kay" Byrdsong husband Johnny of Longview; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other relatives also survive.
Serving as pallbearers are Brant Moore, Chet Wall, Cedric Roberson, Marlon Byrdsong, Larry Cumming, and Eric Roberson.
