A funeral service for Mrs. Mabel Ann Lesikar Morgan, 93, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Gene Simpson officiating. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Morgan passed away on Friday morning, Dec. 20, 2013, in Carthage.
Mabel Ann Lesikar Morgan was born on June 8, 1920, in Temple, TX to the late Vinc E. and Emily Pechal Lesikar. She graduated from high school in Temple, TX with the class of 1938, and Temple College in 1940. She married Roy Austin Morgan on Aug. 8, 1942, in Temple and he preceded her in death on Apr. 2, 2004. She enjoyed raising her grandchildren. She was a former member of the Rebekah Lodge. She retired in 1983, with 20 years of service from the City of Carthage as the Tax Assessor Collector. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Morgan was also preceded in death by one brother, Woodrow Lesikar.
Mrs. Morgan is survived by two sons, Tony Morgan and wife Laura of Carthage and Mike Morgan of Forney; one brother, James Lesikar and wife Ludine of Temple; six grandchildren, Shane Morgan and wife Magi, Chad Morgan and wife Keela, Greg Morgan and wife Jennifer, Kristie Higgins, Kerrie Coleman and husband Bob, and Colby Morgan and fiancé Hailey Wyant; ten great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and three step great-great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are Shane Morgan, Chad Morgan, Colby Morgan, Greg Morgan, Woody Lesikar, and Chris Daniels.
