Obituary

Mr. Lynork Jinks, Sr., 71 of San Francisco, CA, formerly of Beckville, TX, went to his heavenly home on Tuesday afternoon, May 12, 2020, in Brentwood, CA surrounded by family. He was born on September 20, 1948, in Beckville, TX, to the parentage of Matthew Jinks, Jr. and Lottie Mae Jones Jinks.

Lynork attended and graduated from Sunset High School in Beckville, TX.  He joined the United States Marines, fought in the Vietnam War, and was honorably discharged. Medals, decorations, badges, commendations, citations, and campaign ribbons awarded or authorized were: National Defense Service Medal, Rifle Marksman Badge,Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal,Combat Action Ribbon and the Purple Heart Medal.

Lynork met and married Sylvia Dong and to this union, his only four children were born. Lynork and Sylvia later divorced.  He attended City College of San Francisco as well as Heald College. He worked as a carpenter, for many years, until his retirement.  Lynork was a highly devoted family man. He was deeply passionate and made it very clear that family always came first, and that family takes care of family. He raised his children with his southern values, the discipline of a Marine, with the purest love of a father, and instilled in them his family values.  He had an uncanny sense of humor.  He was the king of jokes.  He was guaranteed to make anyone laugh.  His favorite holiday was April Fool's Day and he couldn't wait until every year to add more victims to his list.  He was very uplifting and always looked on the brighter side of things. He had a great love of music and dance. Any time the music came on, he kept the dance floor on fire! He was a fighter until the end and was surrounded by his loved ones, just as he wished.  So, whether you knew him as Lynork, Jack, Lenny, Jinks, Uncle, Cousin, Brother, Grandpa, or Dad you all knew him as one of the greatest men that ever lived life, truly on his terms. He was the tie that binds the Jinks family.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, siblings, and nephews: Gracie Helen Jinks, George Edward Jinks, Dewey Glenn Jinks, Quincy Nolan Jinks, Ira Lewis Jinks, Arthur Jinks, Anthony Jinks, Senoris Jinks, Jr., Raymond Jinks, and Robert Jinks.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah King, and also leaves to carry on his legacy, one daughter: Stephanie Jinks of Las Vegas. NV; and three sons: Lynork Jinks, Jr. (Carol) of Brentwood, CA, Lynell Jinks (Zuleyka) of Martinez, CA, and Lyndell Jinks (Larae) of Bay Point, CA., Two brothers: Senoris Jinks of San Francisco, CA and Richard Jinks of Ft. Worth, TX, one sister: Carolyn Keys of Beckville, TX, eleven grandchildren: Kamieko, Kaiko, Kayomi, Kanami, Kaipono, Jasmine, Jaelyn, Zelina, Izaac, Jade, and Onyx,  and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
